Matthew Triaca
Senior Vice President

Matthew Triaca, Senior Vice President, provides public relations counsel to clients and oversees the development and execution of public affairs campaigns.  He currently directs US public diplomacy and outreach programs for the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates in Washington, DC and works with other UAE organizations to develop programs that reach target US audiences, and build relationships with policy influencers and media.

A seasoned issues/crisis counselor, Mr. Triaca has extensive experience managing complex programs for clients in the aviation, transportation and homeland security sectors. He led Burson-Marsteller’s aviation and transportation specialty practice, where his work included managing communications for industry clients that were facing severe operational crises, regulatory scrutiny, labor actions, litigation or competitor-driven pressures. A campaign to reposition L-3 Communications Security & Detection Systems’ explosives detection products among aviation industry and homeland security customers was honored with multiple PR industry honors, including PR Week’s "Business to Business Campaign of the Year" award. He also provided strategic communications counsel to senior executives at US Airways while the company reorganized twice through Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection and completed a merger with America West Airlines.

Previously, Mr. Triaca was a public affairs specialist and spokesperson for United Airlines and the Commonwealth Edison Company (ComEd).  While at United, he served as the company’s spokesperson on regulatory, legal and operational matters, and developed communications programs to support key initiatives, such as the launch of new international routes, products, and services.  At ComEd, Mr. Triaca implemented public affairs programs that promoted the utility’s energy efficiency initiatives, building relationships with third-party groups and media in Illinois.  He also managed the utility’s stakeholder outreach and media effort during a state-wide electric utility deregulation legislative initiative.

Mr. Triaca began his career in Washington, DC as a media relations representative for a national grassroots organization.

A graduate of Susquehanna University with a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Arts, Mr. Triaca also holds a Master of Arts degree in Public Communications from American University.
