Margarita Noriega

Margarita Noriega, an Associate, brings to The Harbour Group a strong research and online communications background, stemming from her work in both the private and public sectors over the past decade. Using cutting-edge research capabilities and an understanding of online media trends, she has individually influenced public policy in a variety of subjects, including higher education, urban planning, intellectual property, and global health.
Ms. Noriega’s previous employers include the Biotechnology Industry Organization (BIO), where she encouraged industry and public collaboration regarding bioethics and intellectual property issues, such as nanotechnology and gene patenting. Prior to BIO, she performed industry trend analysis for CEO-level recruitments for the leading boutique executive recruiting firm, Leonard Pfeiffer & Company. Former employers also include the Urban Land Institute and US Public Interest Research Group. Earlier in her career, Ms. Noriega was the volunteer leader of San Diego student advocacy on higher education legislation, successfully lobbying on local, state and federal higher education policy.
Originally from San Diego, CA, Ms. Noriega moved to Washington, DC to study globalization and politics at The George Washington University Elliot School of International Affairs. She volunteers her free time event-planning for local DC fundraisers and personally organized a fundraiser in Washington, DC to aid victims of the 2011 Japan earthquake, raising over $20,000 in individual and corporate donations in one week’s time.
