Richard Marcus Managing Director
Richard Marcus is Co-Founder and Managing Director of The Harbour Group. In addition to helping direct the company and its range of client services, Mr. Marcus works with major trade associations and corporations, leading national public affairs campaigns and targeted grassroots efforts.
Mr. Marcus has demonstrated his expertise in public policy on prominent issues such as aviation and transportation with US Airways; telecommunications with MCI; the food and beverage industry for both Kraft Foods and Miller Brewing Company; technology and privacy matters on behalf of the Consumer Electronics Association, and corporate transactions with US Airways, Dean Foods, and MCI. Much of Mr. Marcus’s work is in coalition building on behalf of his clients. He also has a proven track record in media relations, legislative strategy and litigation support.
Mr. Marcus is an attorney with a strong background in international trade, corporate communications and political consulting. Mr. Marcus served as an Executive Vice President and Managing Director at a large public relations agency. He has extensive political campaign experience at all levels of government and has worked for a member of the U.S. House of Representatives and on the committee staff of a U.S. Senator. On behalf of the Democratic National Committee he helped devise and implement media relations strategies for the past three national conventions.
Mr. Marcus has a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Rochester and a J.D. from George Washington University.
